I’ve been making animations, on and off, since I was about ten years old, when my father built me an animation rostrum out of those aluminum bars with holes in.  When I went to art school I used animation as an adjunct to my study of graphic design, and it been that way for me professionally ever since, a method of communication with graphic design, but in motion.

I’ve made hundreds of animations, using puppets, clay, paper, drawings, paintings, cels, pasta (yes, pasta), first in film, and later utilizing digital technology, such as the famous Quantel Paintbox, and now with such computer desktop programs as Adobe Animate and After Effects.

But really, even in the digital age, it was, is, and will always be the writing that counts. It’s still amazing to me that with all the extraordinary advances in CGI, without a good idea, its all for nought.
